Your Employees Need a Break

Anxiety

Anxiety causes feelings of restlessness, fatigue, difficulty focusing, irritability, excessive feelings of worry, difficulty sleeping, crippling perfectionism and loss of interest in work.

Affects 300 Million Adults Worldwide

In fact, anxiety is the most common mental disorder in the U.S., affecting a whopping 40 million adults.

With statistics like these, odds are high that many of your employees are struggling with anxiety, which is affecting not only your company’s productivity, but also your employee’s happiness and life satisfaction.

Depression

Depression can be short or long-term, but it manifests as a loss of pleasure, difficulty sleeping, low appetite and energy, and diminished self-worth.

Leading Cause of Disability

In fact, 71% of the adult US population has experienced at least one major depressive episode. If you think it doesn’t affect your company, remember that depression costs the U.S. $51 billion in absenteeism and lost productivity alone.

If your employees are struggling with depression, there is most likely a lack of internal motivation and interest, resulting in low-energy offices.

Burnout

Burnout is categorized by feelings of exhaustion, sensitivity to feedback, increased mental distance from one’s job or harboring negative feelings towards one’s career.

75% of Workers Have Exeprienced

Sadly, 40% of employees say they’ve experienced burnout specifically during the pandemic, while 67% believe burnout has worsened over the pandemic. Yet 36% of employees said their organization isn’t doing anything to help with employee burnout. Don’t be one of them.

Burnout negatively impacts job satisfaction, employee retention, customer relationships, and the overall success of a business.

The Magic of Forest Bathing

Promotes Psychological Well-Being

Spending time in nature has a fantastic impact on our emotional well-being – including easing stress, anxiety, and depression! It naturally lowers blood pressure, cortisol levels. heart rate, and strengthens cardiovascular and metabolic health. It also boosts positive emotions, while decreasing negative ones, as well as lessening rumination. (1) (2)

Enhances Human Spirituality

Spiritual health is what gives our life purpose, keeps us motivated in tough times, and leads to greater fulfillment. Time in nature allows the body to return to its natural state, to the breath, to the senses. It gives us time to reflect.  In fact, time in nature may enhance or actualize  spirituality, by giving us time to experience awe which connects us to each other & the earth. (3) (4)

Improves Sleep & Reduces Fatigue

The end to burnout, mental fatigue, and exhaustion! Forest bathers report improve wake-sleep cycles, as well as an easier time falling asleep, staying asleep, and in sleep quality. Just 2 hours of forest walking has shown to improve sleep time, immobile minutes during sleep, sleep quality, and self-reported depth of sleep. (5)

Improves Focus & Memory

In the digital age, it’s getting harder to focus for longer stretches of time. Time spent in nature has numerous positive effects on cognitive health, including improving memory, focus, and attention. (6) (7)

Boosts Creativity & Problem-Solving

Surprising as it may sound, time in nature boosts our social skills, making us more friendlier, kinder, and generous. It also increases our high-level cognitive functioning, resulting in improved creativity and problem-solving. We experience a break, which allows our minds to play with ideas and consider new avenues. (7) (8)

Supports Immune Health & Energy Levels

Time in nature not only promotes relaxation and a sense of calm, which does wonders for our health and energy, but it also lowers inflammation, boosts the immune system, and illness recovery. It even lowers mortality rates! (9) (10)

Eco-Therapeutic Excursion Agenda

Total Time: 4hours

(10am-2pm)

Guided Ceremony

Holding a safe container is key to creating a truly healing and rejuvenating experience. We rely on the tried-and-true ceremony format to create this safe, open, and sacred space.

Opening Ceremony: Employees will be guided on a grounding meditation, shown how to set individual intentions for the nature experience, and given a short presentation on the power of grounding.

Closing Ceremony: When the walk is completed, employees will gather briefly to enjoy a tea ceremony in the forest and share their experiences with their co-workers.

Eco-Therapeutic Walk & Forest Bath

Take a semi-guided eco-therapeutic walk along our 2 miles of private trails. Employees are guided on how to connect with nature in a mindful and therapeutic way, supported by helpful trail signs, and provided rest at many hand-carved benches throughout the forest.

Participants will connect with their body, their breath, and their hearts. But they will also connect to the supportive forest floor, the majestic trees, and the beauty of life all around.

Lunch, Tour, & Free Time

A healthy lunch will be provided at the base of the forest, giving employees a chance to simply relax in the fields or explore the area on their own.

An optional farm tour, fleece demonstration, and farm store visit will also be available to interested participants.
