Our

Animals

All animals on the farm are rescues and have come to make their home with us from owners who, for a variety of reasons, could not keep them any longer. Read on to hear a little about each of our wonderful animals. They are all waiting to see you!

30 Alpacas & Two Llamas

We lovingly home over twenty alpaca, gathered from all over the state. They spend their days roaming our wide fields and playing with the occasional goose or dog who ventures near.  Each alpaca produces roughly 5-10lbs a year of wool, which keeps us very busy! They are the sweetest animals, and very curious about dogs. We have one llama who thinks he’s king of the Alpacas.

Eight Jacob’s Sheep

The newest addition to our family, we recently acquired eight Jacob’s sheep, in two separate trips! While they are still getting used to the lay of the land, we anticipate they will love their new freedom and regular grooming.

One Horse – Freya

Our beautiful, lone horse is our majestic princess. Freya came from a large equestrian establishment where she lived with all her equine sisters. She was never alone and loved her family.  She came down with a bowed tendon in her right front leg which meant she was no longer able to carry riders or perform.  She found her way to our farm and she could eat all she wanted in a large pasture all by herself.  She loved the grass, but she hated being alone.  She would stare out across the gate toward the alpacas and whinny and ask to see them.  We finally let her mingle and she was so happy, she has never left them since.  One time several of them got out the pasture gate and we were unaware until we saw Freya trotting past herding them from the front lawn back into the pasture!  She can be found in the barn or out strolling the fields, enjoying the wind in her mane.

 Two Geese

These two geese were here when we got here, and we couldn’t be happier to have them! They are the undesignated guard animals of the farm, and sound the alarm whenever we have company.

Flock of Chickens & a Rooster

A small flock of chickens (and one rooster) keep us supplied with eggs and up at dawn all year long.

Five Dogs

With two guard dogs and three house dogs, there are plenty of cute puppy faces to snuggle! Our house babies love to explore, eat, and get pets! Let our guard dogs show you around!

Resident Wildlife

We also have resident wildlife, which we can get glimpses of from time to time.  We have raccoons, beavers, gophers, porcupines, opossums, and recently a badger! We have deer and other types of wildlife in our woodland.  You may see eagles, hawks, a large blue heron who feasts from our creek and sometimes an owl makes an appearance.

Looking to support our animals? We welcome any and all donations, volunteers, and sponsors.
